KPI’s and Dashboards

October 29, 2020 Selling Comments Off on KPI’s and Dashboards

The last newsletter focused on “defining your most important measurables, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)”. Now let’s look at using Dashboards to manage your KPI’s. Dashboards are utilized to summarize details that are important and keep them in a place that is easy to access. For most people today, that is your computer and cell phone.

Dashboards should be easy to understand and simple to follow. Great Dashboards provide current status within seconds of seeing them and can be used across the organization. This is the key to success with your Dashboards. Dashboards are created with supporting data that can be investigated when needed so lots of data is not required on the Dashboard. That’s what makes it a Dashboard – a simple summary.

The best Dashboards include color to help the user understand what they are seeing. At a quick look, you should know what is working and what is not. If what you are seeing is good you can keep moving but when you see a negative color or signal you stop and dig deeper. When your Dashboards are used effectively you can see results in a matter of seconds and leverage your time to focus on the areas that need you when they need you.

Dashboards should be your “Home screen” on your computer and easy to get to on your cell phone. You can tie alerts to your Dashboards and when an unacceptable level is reached a text or email can be sent to you and your team, so action is immediate.

How do you create your Dashboards? We can help you do it. How do you do connect your KPI’s to your Dashboards and use them to manage your business? We can help you do it. We need to talk because we can help!
