The Business Plan

December 30, 2012 planning Comments Off on The Business Plan

Do you actually draft a business plan that includes the overall business goals and the strategies that will be employed from a corporate and department level?  Are the department “work plans” then broken down into individual employee/associate work plans?  Do you have an overall and an individual follow up and metrics system to be sure everyone is on task?

Do you have a business plan, not just a projected P&L, but a plan that includes the overall business goals and strategies and the corresponding/supporting goals and strategies that every department and associate must achieve to meet the overall company goals?

The business planning process requires hard work, focus, follow up and follow-through.  It is not an easy process and the metrics and actual follow up to insure that all departments and associates are on task is a complex process that most people would rather not do!  So we wonder why our companies do not achieve the goals that we set.

Well, it’s back to basics. Focus, follow up, metrics and follow through is what separates the top performers from the rest of the pack. How are you at keeping focused, establishing metrics, following up and following through?  Are you really good at these tasks or are they a pain?

We are having great success coaching and implementing these methods and skills and our clients love it!
